What is IV Therapy?

Intravenous nutrition is a service that provides nutrients directly into the bloodstream through an IV catheter. Naturopaths and functional physicians prescribe IV nutrition for many different kinds of patients including those with nutritional deficiency, iron deficiency, immune deficiency, Lyme disease, and for those who have the need to detoxify from antibiotics or substance abuse (or overuse). IV nutrition is also an excellent tonic for improving one’s cellular health, slowing the aging process, optimizing sports performance or recovering from chronic disease. IV therapy is not currently FDA approved, however there are articles attached to this webpage that demonstrate the considerable health effects on those who have used them, as well as an unquestionable safety profile. While these therapies are offered in out-patient medi-spa environments in Augusta and Portland, our IV therapies are delivered and monitored by a Nurse Practitioner to ensure that all medical and holistic considerations are applied to ensure your safety and your optimal health.

IV Nutritional therapies are currently being administered by Alicia Snow, NP at Camden Whole Health on Wednesdays from 11am-7 pm.
