Practice areas
Primary Care
I offer Primary Care with a total body approach, combining nutrition, lifestyle and complementary therapies with western medical diagnosis and management. I believe in tailoring therapies to the preferences of the patient as much as possible, and in working in partnership with the patient to co-design a personal health management plan. I also believe that this process takes time. My appointment times range from 20 to 60 minutes and are determined by the needs and preferences of the patient. This medical practice offers a model of collaborative, patient-centered medical care which the patient is an active participant in their own health management. Please be aware that my Primary Care services are limited in that I have no physician coverage on weekends and do not mail reminders to clients regarding their screenings.
Lyme Disease Treatment
Lyme disease has become an epidemic in many areas of the United States, the midcoast of Maine among them. The Western model regularly mistreats or misdiagnosis this condition, leaving many patients feeling unwell and without options. Using current guidelines from the International Lyme and Associated Diseases, combined with functional medical analysis and testing, this condition can be treated successfully. I have recovered from lyme and anaplasmosis infection successfully with complete remission of symptoms, and have learned first hand what the body needs for optimal support and recovery. Lyme is treatable. Therapies will include lyme-specific yoga postures, pharmaceutical and natural medicines, nutritional management and mindfulness practice. Come get your life back.
Homeopathy
I also offer classical homeopathic analysis and treatment. Homeopathy is a natural, non-toxic therapeutic system of healing that assists in the inherent ability of the body to heal itself. It is particularly effective for emotional ailments such as anxiety, depression, mood imbalance and compulsive behaviors. Homeopathic consultations begin with a 90 minute appointment in which the full picture of the patient is explored. Patients are asked to commit to at least one subsequent appointment because homeopathy, like all good things, takes time. For more information about homeopathy as a medical science, click here:
Emotional & Mental Wellness
The mind and body, spirit and environment are all parts of our "whole”; each contributes to our quality of life. If any one of these factors is out of balance, the effects may be felt throughout the body, and may even effect one’s ability to perform basic tasks. Mental wellness coaching supports people in achieving their ideal balance by addressing cognitive, dietary, environmental and lifestyle imbalances. Treatments may include the use of dietary changes, mindfulness practice, herbal medicine, natural supplements and homeopathic remedies when appropriate. Consideration will also be given to the need or desire for pharmaceutical support. Goals are determined in a collaborative way, and honor the innate wisdom of the patient in determining where balance lies.

Policies & Fee Schedule
Payment
Please be aware that I do not provide direct insurance billing. Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card, and should be done so at the time of service. Venmo works as well. The office will provide you with an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if the services you received are covered by your policy. A 25% discount is offered to patients on Medicare and MaineCare.
New patient intake:
90 minutes + review of medical records: $295
Follow-up appointments:
55 minutes: $195
Phone Consultations
Phone appointments are billed on the basis of time at increments of $50.00 per fifteen minutes. You simply pay by credit card or Venmo when we are done.
After-Hours and Emergencies
If you are having what you believe is a true medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the Emergency Room of your nearest hospital.
Feel free to leave a message on the voicemail. I check messages regularly. If you do not receive a return phone call within 48 hours, please call again. Occasionally there are technical problems that keep me from getting your message. Messages left after 3:00 pm may not get returned until the next business day.
Cancellation and No-Shows
Late cancellations prevent other patients from being seen promptly. Please provide me with 48-hours notice to cancel a new appointment and 24-hours notice to cancel a follow-up appointment. This means that if you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours prior to its scheduled time, or miss a visit, there is $100 fee for 60-minute appointments and $50 for 40- minute follow-ups. I realize there can be extenuating circumstances and will take these into consideration. I usually do not enforce this rule unless the cancellations are recurrent.
Please leave a message on voice mail or email me ASAP if you won’t be able to make it in.
Self-care
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment so you can complete any necessary paperwork and have a cup of tea before your visit. If you expect to have a pelvic exam please don’t put anything in your vagina (intercourse, medications, etc.) for at least 24 hours before your assessment. Try to schedule your visit for a day when you don’t expect to be menstruating.
Running Late
Please arrive promptly for your appointment. If you know you’re going to be late, call or text so we can discuss whether you should reschedule or just plan on a shorter visit (sometimes we can make this work, but sometimes we can’t). If you reschedule, you may still be held responsible for the visit fee.
Medications and Supplements
If there are any drugs or food supplements which you take regularly, please note them on the medication and supplement form. You can also bring the supplements with you to your appointment so we can make sure they’re of good quality and have no worrisome interactions.
In-person and remote options
My office is conveniently located in downtown Camden at Camden Whole Health. Prefer not to come into the office? I offer remote visits using telehealth.
